Day ?? Guitars, Bass
Yes, it’s good to be back. Got to the studio on Wednesday and I leave tonight. Watched/listened to Zack track bass and read The Godfather, also played 1941 (awesome side-scroller shooter) with Dryw on the hacked xbox in the room I sleep in. Spent last weekend with In:Aviate at their Modesto and Bakersfield shows. Discussed future tours and met some other legit dudes in the bands they’re on tour with currently (Ivoryline).
Zack is done with bass, he rules and gets things done quickly. The Gibson Ripper that was so generously given to me a couple of years ago was not working properly for this recording so we had to borrow a Fender bass that sounds BALLER and re-track a bunch of songs. It set us back some time but we gotta make this sound (see last adjective: baller). I have some guitar stuff to finish up, hopefully that’s done tonight so we can start vocals and keys next week. The curse of our band is that no matter how much time we book, it is never enough….because our crap breaks. So, the recording will continue on in early December. We’re still shooting for a Spring 2009 independent release as of right now.
As a group there are a lot of reasons why we love this album so far, but the main one for me is that it is an honest representation of our development as musicians and people in the last year since the EP. It’s the exact statement we wanted to make and I couldn’t be more in love with it right now. We’ll see how in love with it I am if I still can’t get my stupid guitar to play in this specific tuning by the end of the night though.
Thanks to all of you who have been reading our blog, it means the world to us. Expect to see pre-order info in January and all of that jazz. We love you.
