Castle Sessions: Reviewing Drums
Sorry for the delay on this entry, but the past few days have been pretty uneventful, so you who have been following have not missed much. Recent days have consisted solely of reviewing the countless drum takes Luke recorded at Sharkbite studio and making sure everything is sounding good. We finished our time at Sharkbite last week, and are recording the rest of the instruments at Castle Ultimate Studio nearby. Incidentally, everything to this point sounds great (to my ears) and really congruent with the diversity of sound we are aiming for with this record. Right now I am hanging out with Sean in the Berkely Hostel, as we are not doing any recording over weekends. I have used this time to work on lyrics, read, practice piano downstairs, and observe the countless weirdos in their natural habitat. Starting monday, we will lay down guitars for the record, which I am really looking forward to. Once you start to record the melodic instruments, you hear the song start to come together. I am excited for this, and very excited to begin playing live again in a whole new way when this thing is done. I really appreciate those who have been following us through this. Please feel free to message us on myspace, or however you want to talk.
